An Insight into Grid Scheduling Algorithms: A Survey

Grid scheduling is the process of mapping each and every task for the job completion with respect to the service level agreements. Grid scheduling produces effective decisions, and involves the resources from various administrative domains. The complexity of generic scheduling issue is NP-Complete. The scheduling issue is more problematic due to certain unique features of grid computations. In this paper, the recent trend in scheduling for grid computing is reviewed. It gives an account of grid scheduling mechanisms that were amended in earlier stages of grid and fruition of the same relevant to grid. It also briefs several existing metaheuristics optimization algorithm existing for grid computing and presents a comparison.
